Frequently Asked Questions
Customization Tool
- How do I make an image fit within the ad?
Suggested sizes are provided when using the ad builder. For best results, provide images that are the exact sizes requested as our platform will attempt to crop the image for you if you do not. We have our own design team, so if you would like assistance with your creative please email us at sticky@addGloo.com and we will be happy to help.
- I'm interested in an ad format that is not yet available, is it possible to use addGloo™ for ads with different dimensions?
Yes, please contact us if you are interested in using one of the addGloo™ ad types with a different ad format. For example, if you wish to run an ecommerce ad but are interested in a Large Rectangle format (336 x 280) instead of the available Medium Rectangle format then contact us for pricing details as we can produce this for you upon request.
- How do I enable A-B testing?
A-B testing (definition) may be enabled by creating and saving 2 different ads and then contacting your addGloo™ representative. Your representative will verify the ads are suitable for A-B testing and will return with suggestions for alterations or new copy-and-paste code that enables the A-B test. Interested in Multivariate testing (definition)? Please let you representative know of your interest.
Flighting your Ads
- Where can I display my ads?
addGloo™ Ads are IAB standards compliant (read more), and as such are accepted by almost all publishers online. Some publisher networks, content networks, search networks and auction-based exchanges are not yet addGloo™ partners and may require additional setup before you are able to start displaying your ads to their network. Contact us for more information.
- With which Ad systems are my ads compatible?
Our ads are IAB standard rich media ads, and are compatible with all major Ad serving and Ad management technologies such as Dart for Publishers (DFP).
- As a publisher can I deploy Gloo™ on my site?
Absolutely. In fact, we are believers in empowering publishers with a better toolkit than they have had in the past and so have developed Gloo™ with the publisher in mind. Our ads are IAB standard so you can flight them on your site just as you have your other ads.
- What browsers are supported/can see my ad?
All industry leading browsers, including Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera are supported, meaning that you won't have any problems with users being able to view or interact with Gloo.
- How do I flight my Gloo in Google DFP?
When it is time to add your creative, select type 'Third Party'. When it asks for your code snippet, use the copy-and-paste code provided via 'Step 2: Flight your Ads'. You will need to insert a cachebuster macro for Google to accept the snippet. Simply insert '?%%CACHEBUSTER%%' into your copy-and-paste code after the '/web' portion, similar to this example:
<script src="http://adserver.addgloo.com/publisher/090e2ec2_5d2d_11df_b790_123138047c91/web?%%CACHEBUSTER%%" type="text/javascript"></script>
After saving, you should see your Gloo previewed inside of Google DFP.
- Is it possible to flight my Gloo using a SWF file instead of a javascript snippet?
Yes. Although we recommend using our javascript method for deployment wherever possible, you can also download a SWF version. This SWF file will, upon display, download its configuration and assets. In order for it to work properly, the file must not be renamed when it is flighted to the page - the filename is its unique key that is used to display your particular Gloo. If you wish to test your SWF simply download it to your computer, then drag the file into your browser.
- Why is javascript the preferred method for flighting Gloo?
If you deploy your Gloo using the SWF method you, or your Ad flighting software, will need to take responsibility for flighting a non-flash version of your Ad where the user does not have flash installed. If you use our javascript method however, the Gloo platform will ensure that non-flash users still receive a version of your Ad. For some Gloo it is a simple single pane graphical ad, but for others it is a full HTML5 implementation that looks and functions like its flash equivalent.
- How can I see the HTML5 version of my ad?
The Gloo platform will show a flash ad to you if you have the required flash player installed and enabled. If you don't have flash, the ad will 'fall back' to the HTML version. If you wish to examine the non-flash version of your ad, simply disable flash and reload the page. Instructions for your browser are below:
Internet Explorer 7: Menu: Tools > Internet Options, Program Tab, click button: Manage add-on, Filters, Add-ons that run without requiring permission, select Shockwave Object, click Enable/Disable button at bottom, close and restart browser
Firefox 3: Menu: Tools > Add-ons, Plugins tab, Select Shockwave Flash, enable/disable
Safari 3: Menu: Safari > Preferences, Security tab, Web content: check Enable plug-ins
Opera 9.5: Menu: Opera > Quick Preferences > Enable Plug-Ins

How do I integrate a Universal ClickTAG?
Addgloo supports the IAB Universal ClickTAG. Please note: Gloo are designed to have users stick on site or complete actions inside the ad.
Clicktags within Gloo are only used when the user clicks a button or link inside the ad that is sending them to a destination URL.
All "clicks outside the ad" can be tracked using the ClickTAG. We have made an example available for you to download. Simply unzip and open the HTML file inside.
To enable a ClickTAG for your ad, modify your embed code as follows.
Javascript deployment:
<script src="http://adserver.addgloo.com/publisher/090e2ec2_5d2d_11df_b790_123138047c91/web?clickTAG=http://adnetwork.com/tracking?http://www.destinationURL.com" type="text/javascript"></script>
SWF deployment:
090e2ec2_5d2d_11df_b790_123138047c91.swf?clickTAG=http://adnetwork.com/tracking?http://www.destinationURL.com
Ensure you pass the parameter with care to capitalization. It should be "clickTAG".
Data and Privacy
- Where is the data from my ads stored and how can I retrieve it?
Any user submitted or user generated content from your ads is stored in our secure database. Certain sensitive information, like credit card data, is not stored and is either processed immediately or sent to you for processing via our real-time data transfer service. Any data stored by us on your behalf is handled with the utmost care including redundancy and backups. Our servers are protected by firewalls and are strictly monitored. If you are using our real-time data transfer service you will receive data from your ads as users submit it via an HTTP POST to a url on your server. For those that are not using our real-time data transfer service or would like to additionally retrieve all customer data as one dataset, you are also able to export all data for a particular ad as a CSV file for import into your spreadsheet or database system.
- How does the real-time transfer of data work?
When creating your Ad, if you provide AddGloo™ with a URL for the real-time data transfer service, our servers will HTTP POST user submitted or generated data to the provided URL. This means that you will receive the data from your ads just seconds after it was received by our servers, automatically without having to do anything. By sending the data to you as an HTTP POST you can process it using whatever technologies you have in place (PHP, .NET, Java etc.) just as you would any other FORM submission on your website.
- Does addGloo™ collect information on ad visitors?
addGloo™ ads do not require the collection or storage of any personally identifiable information. We track user engagement via standard HTTP requests and clicks are tracked through redirect URLs. No beacons/tracking pixels or cookies are required.
Reporting and Measuring Performance
- What metrics can I view to analyze the performance of my ad?
To track and measure how your ad is performing, we can provide you with the following metrics: (i) impressions delivered by site (ii) individual interactions with Gloo, whether purchases made, leads generated or other measurement. Data is made available to you via Google Analytics and custom reports from AddGloo. Looking to track performance using metrics not yet available? Let us know what you're looking to track and we'll see if we can enable it for your campaign.
White labeling our Platform
- Can I white label your platform for integration into my publisher network, ad network or affiliate network or for use by my agency?
Yes. Publishers, agencies and networks wishing to white label the addGloo™ platform can do so and have all the same self serve features available under their branding (vs. addGloo™ branding). We can provide your advertisers or publishers with access to your own branded version of the addGloo™ platform. AddGloo™ will continue to host and serve any ads created via such white labeled platform but it will be "invisible" to any of your users.
Why is Gloo™ so special?
- Is there more to AddGloo™ than an ad-building wizard?
Yes, definitely. While addGloo™ makes it super simple for any publisher or advertiser or agency to create rich media ads using our self-serve wizard, the power of our ads is that they will engage users and lead to greater conversions, whether generating a lead, completing a product purchase, interacting with video or participating in a contest or other promotion. And our Gloo™ represents a revolutionary development in the nature of online ads: for the first time, users are not forced to leave the website they are visiting in order to interact with the ad; instead they remain firmly on the website where they are engaged and as such are more likely to interact with the ad, which is better for the user, advertiser and of course the publisher of the website.
